I’ve spent much of my life helping people figure things out, find a way forward, and occasionally come up with a good workaround when Plan A goes sideways. Travel just happens to be one of my favorite ways to do it.

I’m the founder of The Travel Maven, a longtime travel professional, cruise enthusiast, writer, musician, wife, mom, and native Texan. I believe travel should feel exciting, not overwhelming, and that having a real person in your corner can make all the difference.

Meet Becky

I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years, but travel advisor may be the one that fits me best.

My professional life has taken me through banking, marketing, administration, computer forensics, church and Christian school work, and eventually into the travel industry. It may sound like an unusual path, but every one of those experiences taught me something I use today: how to research, organize details, solve problems, communicate clearly, and find a workaround when Plan A decides not to cooperate.

And believe me, I can usually find a workaround.

I’m a native Texan, wife to a wonderful husband who is always up for another adventure, mother of two grown sons, Christian musician and pianist, writer, and lifelong adventurer. I love discovering new places, but I enjoy the planning almost as much as the going. Give me a cruise itinerary, a hotel search, a complicated group, or a spreadsheet full of possibilities, and I’m perfectly happy sorting through the details until they make sense.

That’s really what The Travel Maven is about.

I don’t simply book a trip and send you on your way. I help you sort through the choices, think about the details you may not know to ask about, and find the vacation that fits you. Cruises are my specialty, and group travel has become a particular favorite, but what I enjoy most is helping people move from “Where do I even start?” to “I can’t wait to go!”

Travel has given me wonderful memories, funny stories, a few unexpected adventures, and a healthy respect for the fact that things don't always go according to plan. That's part of the journey.

You dream about where you want to go. I'll help you figure out how to get there.
